Our relaxed, informal, mixed ability session on Saturday morning at Jewels, Houghton Regis was well-attended, with a wide range of ages from young children right up through to Senior Citizens.
Some of us spent most of our time having a go at jewellery making and there were lots of different types of beads available, including brightly coloured shapes which proved popular with children (my personal favourites were the ladybird beads), and more subtle ethnic, wooden beads in natural hues. There were also larger beads suitable for pendant making and varied pastel shades of beads, such as pink and white pearls, so hopefully, enough variety to suit differing tastes.
Some attendees, however, focused more on colouring and/or painting, and produced some interesting cards and pictures for special occasions.
One or two people decided to do quilling (winding thin strips of coloured paper into 3D shapes), and someone commented that they found the gentle winding of the paper strips and shape-making to be a calming process.
Our next Create and Craft will be on Saturday, 18th March, from 10.30 am until 12.30 pm and will have an Easter theme.
