It was great to experience the positive, buzzy atmosphere at the Houghton Regis Professionals Networking event on Monday 22nd April.

I was able to have useful discussions with local professionals working to improve the lives of people in Bedfordshire including children and young people, for example, Young Carers, Houghton Helpers, Domestic Abuse Charities and so on.   Representatives of different organisations were really interested to hear about the work of Pathways & Perspectives, in particular the fact that we offer affordable counselling and free Wellness events as well as Craft sessions.

Some people were also interested to hear that our counselling and well-being sessions are run by qualified counsellors and that we are looking to extend the provision further.

I work by providing a safe, confidential space where people can bring their feelings and thoughts and work at their own pace. My aim is to be supportive and compassionate while helping people see aspects of their situation they haven't already considered. I aim to adapt my approach to every unique individual's particular wishes, needs and circumstances. For example, I offer the opportunity to work creatively and/or look at past experiences or how someone thinks and feels in 'the here and now'.
